Whenever my wife and daughters drop me off at the airport, my two-year-old always bursts into tears. She cries when she sees me get out of the car to go inside the terminal. Saying goodbye is hard.

It struck me, though, that at this age little kids cry when mom or dad leaves. But years from now, it will be mom and dad who cry when the kids leave home.
